We are looking for a PhD student to study ethical issues related to two innovative European projects: GRIPonMASH, to prevent chronic liver illnesses and Artillery, for early detection of non-communicable disease risk in breast cancer patients.

Dit ga je doen

The innovative work in the international projects of GRIPonMASH and Artillery combines the development and use of AI-based decision support tools, population screening and clinical care. In both projects, ethical guidance is warranted to ensure optimal conduct of the project activities as well as high-quality analysis and assessment of the novel ethical issues that emerge during the project.

You will write a PhD thesis (based on scientific publications) in which ethical issues that play a key role across GRIPonMASH and Artillery are identified and addressed. In addition, you will work on your professional development, for example by attending courses at the Graduate School of Life Sciences; you will also teach Medical Humanities courses at the Faculty of Medicine.
