Clinical Epidemiology and Biometry

The Medical Faculty of Würzburg University is looking for a qualified candidate to assume a Chair in Clinical Epidemiology and Biometry as soon as possible. The Chair will be appointed to the Würzburg University and will be in charge of the Institute of Clinical Epidemiology and Biometry (ICEB) to be established by a cooperation of the University and the University Hospital. A Professorship (W 2) and Section of Biometrics will belong to the ICEB. The ICEB will be actively engaged in research and graduate and post graduate education programs at the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital.

The Chair will lead the ICEB, facilitate and coordinate a research program, establish graduate and post graduate training and collaborate with all disease driven research programs, interacting in the strategic research planning and the design of clinical studies including drug trials, and providing support in analyzing data. It is planned to affiliate the Center for Clinical Studies (ZKS) to the ICEB. The candidate should possess either a PhD (or similar doctoral degree) in Epidemiology and/or in Medicine with extensive training in advanced statistical methods, educational qualification and habilitation or equivalent scientific achievements.

We expect a clinical epidemiologist skilled in initiating research and cooperative in proposing and conducting translational research and clinical trials. International standing in research and acquisition of national and international third part funding is requested. Collaboration with running research programs in Würzburg as well as with pharmaceutical companies and other medical industry is expected.
